Carroll Fullerton Smith
Fiber and Mixed Media Artist

Born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, the first child of a family with artistic talents. Started oil painting in mid teens, studying for many years under Professor Harry Wohlfath, University of Alberta, attaining Art 43, University of Alberta. Was the first Alberta student to receive credits of Art Studies, towards Senior Matriculation. Attended the Banff School of Fine Arts for three years on Scholarships. Winning Provincial Scholarship at the adult level while at the age of 16. Three paintings are in the permanent collection of the Banff School of Fine Arts, which toured Canada and the United States.

Love of painting was put on hold during child raising years. Raising three children on her own her artistic talents lead into the Interior Decorating field. During the more than 25 years as a Decorator studying in the United States attaining Masters Degree, WFCPP. Over the last few years the love of fabrics and art have lead into the Fiber Arts world. This involves taking courses at the Alberta College of Art and Design; studies under Betty Conlin, Silk works; Lyn Pfleuger, Wool and Dying; among the many fabric and dying courses taken. The painting on silk with dyes is such an intriguing way to paint and the way the silk takes the dyes is so exciting. She recently adding Acrylic painting to the mix.

Artworks are in private collections in Canada and the United States.
